Stand Up
Omar is a nerd, but not like obsessed with comic books, more like backpack was so heavy it offset his center of gravity. As a classically trained mechanical engineer from Rice University, he realized shortly after testing in NASA’s “Vomit Comet” that there had to be more to life than just numbers.
After moving to California to pursue a career in comedy, he quickly established himself as one of the nice guys of stand up as his humor is often described as witty yet lovable. Omar is a local favorite performing regularly across LA including The Comedy Store, The Improv & The Ice House. His personal anecdotes of growing up poor in a large, Latino family and getting thrown into the world of academia at college wins crowds over with his relatable observations and easygoing personality. He's performed in a number of festivals across the country including The 10,000 Laughs Comedy Festival in Minneapolis, RIOT LA & The Crom Comedy Festival, among others. Using his experience of entertaining crowds nationwide, Omar now performs as a Levity Live Headliner on Norwegian Cruise ships. When he’s not on stage or at sea, Omar lives in Los Angeles with his wife and elderly dog, Mocha |
